Maxon maXcloud Services

MaXwan Site-to-Site VPN Service.

A Site-to-Site VPN is for connecting a network to maXwan devices, rather than maXvpn which connects a single computer to maXwan devices; therefore, extending the company’s network.

Where would you use Site-to-Site VPN?
An example of an application in which Site-to-Site VPN would be ideal is a company that manages various water treatment plants. They require information collected from data loggers via sensors at various sites in NSW and QLD – to be transmitted and made available to several different servers for reporting and monitoring.  Each data logger has a maXwan (Fixed IP address) and is part of a subnet; therefore forming one end of the Site-to-Site VPN.  In the image below one server is allocated to NSW, one server is allocated to QLD and the third server is a back up of all data.  Information from the data loggers is transmitted via a router to the applicable servers and multiple users can access and monitor the data loggers as required.

What is maXcloud?

maXcloud is the corporate umbrella that integrates Maxon Australia’s range of network services; maXwan, maXvpn and maXconnect.
maXcloud is a bundle offering that grew from a demand for static IP addresses and developed offering users the flexibility of private WAN and VPN services as well as device management. The maXcloud offering means that small to medium size businesses no longer need to outlay $1000’s in computer resources and software applications and there’s no long term commitment.

maXcloud allows you access to our reliable services via an Enterprise level data centre that offers rapid deployment and more importantly, superior security and quick response times.

RFI Antennas Helping Out The Farm Robot

The Queensland University for Technology (QUT) Institute for Future Environments developed a robot prototype to help the agricultural sector with autonomous systems to make the farms of the future more productive, profitable, sustainable and safe.

With the help of RFI antennas, AgBot autonomously water crops and kill weeds each day without the farmer having to lift a finger. Once the robot is done ploughing the field, it returns back to its home to recharge via a solar energy storage system!

Using cameras, sensors, software and electronics, AgBot is able to navigate through a field, apply fertiliser, detect and classify weeds and kill weeds either mechanically or chemically.  It is designed to work in autonomous groups in both broad acre and horticultural crop management applications.

While only a prototype – RFI loves to be part of robot that will one day help to feed the world!

Maxon Modems Helping Win The Race!

Car racing has a great tradition in Australia and Maxon Australia is proud to help some of the most successful pit crews help their drivers cross the winners line. Our client has been using two-way radio to transmit data between car and pit, however this presented a number of issues such as; limited data speeds, occasionally having to install radio communications at each location and requiring a separate licence for each county they were using the devices in.
